About Me

As a part in the crew behind our customer portal, we continiously acts on user feedback to deliver value wherever possible. At the time of writing I’m still only a few weeks in and will keep updating this section as I grow into my role and the project at large.

In the meantime, my day to day work usually includes:

• Working closely with UX, stakeholders and fellow developers to build and improve features in our customer portal.
• Maintaining and improving our cloud infrastructure.
• Playing an active role in architectural and technical discussions, where the outline for the future of the platform is being shaped.
• Code reviews.
• Monitoring & debugging our cloud workloads

As a member of the platform team at Stampen, my role is a blend between backend development, cloud architecture and devops.

Besides the technical aspects, a big part of my job is driving the cultural aspects of our development teams, consistently looking for ways to improve collaboration and cross team communication, as well as technical standards and workflows.

My day to day work usually includes:

• Converting business needs and feature requests into technical designs.
• Designing & implementing solutions in our cloud infrastructure to support features and services.
• Pair programming.
• Code reviews.
• Monitoring & debugging our cloud workloads
• Monitoring and optimising our workload costs
• Driving discussions and improvements surrounding our development workflows, release processes and organisational culture around tech.
• Actively improving our information and knowledge sharing by continuously contributing to the content and structure of our documentation and knowledge base.
• High involvement in our hiring process by evaluating coding tests and running technical interviews, as well as helping management put together the profiles we look for.
• Working closely with architect and management personel when it comes to planning, culture and pinpointing potential tech-related needs, pitfalls and opportunities in the near and mid term.

Continuously transitioned between building frontend features and back end development mostly focused on third party integrations, as well as building, maintaining and improving our cloud infrastructure. I was also highly involved in the process of developing our culture and workflows around tech as the team grew, proactively working to improve our code standards, review processes and organisational efficiency.

I spent my first couple of months cleaning, updating and improving the existing codebase before moving on to developing tools and systems for use inhouse, mostly using plain React on smaller projects and NextJS for a larger scale application.
